To clarify…from my previous post…
I was that girl who left for college thinking I would simply find a husband and quit school. I had it in my mind that I’d be married by 22, have 3 kids by 27, and be a happy wife long before this point in my life.
As you can see, at the age of 30, God had different plans. I am thankful, most days, that He had different ideas than I did.
I probably wouldn’t have taken the time to go to Mercy Ministries and find healing in Him. I most likely wouldn’t have gone to graduate school in Arkansas, likely wouldn’t have moved to Kansas, definitely wouldn’t have quit my job in Kansas before having secured another job and probably would not have done many other things in life.
I’ve had the chance to love on others around me, be closer to my family than ever before, spoil my niece and nephews rotten and serve in areas in my churches that I likely wouldn’t have been able to had I gotten my way.
None of this is to say that it’s not still the desire of my heart to be married and have children. I’m simply saying that I believe that God’s timing is important. He knows what He’s doing…even when we struggle with that reality.
I pray that this post finds you well and seeking God’s timing in your life.
